Calling All Young Adults 18-25 in Maryland Who Have Been or Are Currently in Foster Care
Calling All Young Adults 18-25 in Maryland Who Have Been or Are Currently in Foster Care

Co-led and facilitated by young adults with lived foster care experience, the Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Annie E. Casey Foundation are hosting in-person and virtual interactive “listening sessions” with young adults across Maryland. During these listening sessions, you’ll hear about DHS’ vision and contribute to the solutions for ending aging out in Maryland.

What is the goal of the listening sessions? [Bold]
To listen and learn from you! During the meeting, we’ll review foster care data, discuss why it may look the way it does, and ways to end youth aging out based on your experience with the foster care system. Together, we can co-design the future of foster care so older youth have the resources and connections needed.

This event is for young adults 18-25 with foster care experience in Maryland. To our community of child welfare staff, families, and other partners, we will host additional listening sessions to learn from you. Stay tuned!

Transportation costs for in-person meetings will be reimbursed. Please note that childcare will not be provided. If you can’t access childcare, please participate in the virtual session on 10/19/23.
